Escape from the Deep

by  Alex Kershaw

The Epic Story of a Legendary Submarine
and Her Courageous Crew

By October, 1944, the U.S. Navy submarine Tang had sunk more enemy ships and pulled off more daring surface attacks than any other submarine in the Pacific. But then the Tang was hit by one of her own faulty torpedoes. The survivors struggled to stay alive in their submerged "iron coffin" 180 feet beneath the surface while the Japanese dropped deadly depth charges.

Just 9 of the original 80 man crew survived a harrowing ascent through the escape hatch. But shortly after being picked up by a Japanese patrol vessel, they were sent to a secret interrogation camp known as the "Torture Farm." They were finally liberated in August, 1945, and never revealed anything to the Japanese - not even the greatest secret of WWII.

Escape from the Deep is their adrenaline-soaked story, told by critically acclaimed author Alex Kershaw ... More
